COVID-19 Business Controls

The ACT Government has relaxed Covid-19 lock-downs and  personal services can now be resumed. Nevertheless. as expect there have been some COVID-19 business controls and restrictions placed on all Day Spa and Beauty Salon operations in the ACT. 

Enclosed are some of the controls that we have incorporated on reopening.

Keeping clients and staff safe is important t us and we have always adhered to all the ACT Government Infectious Control directives. We understand and agree that the addition and maintenance of Covid-19 controls  into our existing stringent hygiene and infectious control systems are of high importance and their implementation  has been significant, but then, we gone a step further by making Covid-19 inoculation a condition of employment.

Elegant Image is doing everything possible to minimise the risks of Covid infection to all and as we certainly don't want to see the NSW proof of Covid inoculation before service regime implemented in the ACT we implore our beautiful clients that are not vaccinated, please..

What Elegant Image is doing 

In conjunction with the ACT and Federal Governments' controls, we are letting you know of the measures Elegant Image is taking to manage the risks of clients and staff exposure to COVID-19 when we are permitted to reopen. 

Physical Distancing:

As our reception area limits us to 3 people at a time, we ask that clients only self attend sessions and if this is not possible; please call us and we can discuss alternatives.

Wherever possible Elegant Image will ensure 4 square metres of space per person and clients are kept 1.5 metres apart, within the clinic area including the reception area; the treatment rooms; the sauna/shower room; and the spray tan room.

Record Keeping:

We will maintain the time and date of each treatment session along with the contact details of all people being treated. All new clients must complete the Elegant Image Health Questionnaire and existing clients and existing client contact details must be re-affirmed or updated.

The information we will collect include:

  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Numbers
  • email address
  • Your temperature

The affirmation information that will be collected:

  • Any travel over the last 14 days
  • If you have come into contact with anyone suspected of having Corona Virus or exhibiting symptoms in the past 14 day
  • If you have visited or come into contact with someone who has visited a declared coronavirus hotspot location or area during the specified infection times in the past 14 days.
  • If you have had a fever over the last 14 days
  • If you have a dry cough
  • Are you unusually tired

Please do not book or attend if you have come into contact with anyone suspected of having Corona Virus or exhibiting symptoms, have visited or come into contact with someone who has visited a declared coronavirus hotspot location or area during the specified infection times in the past 14 days.

Services Provided:

At this time we are not aware of any restrictions on the services we can provide.

Safety First:

To ensure that cross-infection of COVID-19 between clients and staff, Elegant Image has implemented strict safety protocols and policies. Please be aware that:

  • Therapists will wear face respirator masks, face shields and disposable gloves at all times during treatment
  • All surfaces touched by clients will be sprayed with hospital-grade sanitiser and treatment rooms will be thoroughly cleaned between each use
  • Staff who are unwell are instructed; not to attend work, and if staff develop symptoms at work such as fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath they will be instructed to immediately seek medical advice.
  • Employees who have been isolated after having tested positive for COVID-19 can only return to work when they have fully recovered and have met the ACT Government criteria for clearance from isolation.

Pricing:

Longer term clients will know that Elegant Image has not increased general services  prices for over 5 years, but unfortunately the combination of :

  • the high increases in salon consumable and operating costs and
  • the added cost associated Covid-19 compliance controls (safety, physical distancing controls and Covid-19 PPT).

Compels us to increase these general services prices.

No Shows & Late Cancellations:

No Shows and Late Cancellations are a serious problem for the Beauty Therapy industry, not only does this practice deprive the business of revenue for that the time booked, in many cases, expensive consumable products are wasted. Excepting online clients and Gift Voucher processing, Elegant Image has absorbed this lost revenue. The new COVID-19 operational costs increase demand change and we are currently investigating service deposit or prepayment options for larger jobs.

Bringing children or a friend

Unfortunately the 42 m per person Covid space restrictions compel us to remove any persons in the reception (including children) are not awaiting service at the counter or their appointment.

The exception may be for 1 toddler or  1 baby, at the discretion of the attending therapist this child may be allowed to accompany the client in the treatment room.

Please be aware: that it is unfair to disturb other clients having facials and other relaxation treatments and it is the responsibility of clients bringing toddlers and babies into the treatment areas to ensure these children do not become unruly or noisy in the treatment area and if a child does become unruly or noisy and cannot be quickly settled down, Elegant Image reserves the right to immediately cease the service and request the client remove the child from the treatment area and that if these actions cause the service to be shortened or cancelled, the client will be charged for the full service.  

What you can do: 

It is important to us to be able to provide our regular service to you and you can help us to manage the risks to the health and safety of other clients and our staff by cooperating with the measures we have outlined above. Do the same things for us that you are doing to keep your own family and friends healthy and well. 

This includes frequent hand-washing and/or using hand sanitisers, covering your nose and mouth when you need to cough or sneeze with the crook of your arm or clean tissue and observing rules for physical distancing. More information can be found on the Department of Health website: 

You should also inform us in advance if anyone in your household is unwell, or self-isolating because they are at risk of becoming unwell, with COVID-19.
